Okegawa – 1,180 kWp – The First Mega-Scale FPV Plant
This floating solar plant of 1,180 kWp is installed on a rain water retention pond, located in Okegawa city, Saitama prefecture, Kanto, Japan.
The Hydrelio® floating solar system supports 4,536 panels (260W JA SOLAR modules), and covers about 38 % of the water surface (3.07 ha).
For this project, Ciel & Terre® was in charge of Hydrelio® supply, solar island and anchoring system design. The bottom anchoring was designed to meet a maximum depth of 6 m and a level variation of 6 m.
The grid connection was effective in July 2013. This project was the first floating mega solar plant in Japan.
